Success Story
How a free Work ED trial brought unique, hands-on career discovery experiences to Washington Unified and Salinas Elementary.
Get Priority AccessWashington Unified and Salinas Elementary took advantage of Work ED's free intersession trial—and both decided to contract with Work ED after seeing the impact on students, parents, and staff.
Here's what both Expanded Learning Teams brought to their school districts.
Each district was able to give their students:
25+ hours of programming for elementary and TK students with staff they'll remember forever
Unique, hands-on career discovery programs that sparked curiosity and enthusiasm
Parental engagement through community days and student presentations
By partnering with Work ED, Washington Unified were able to bring their students exciting, project-led programs.
"I loved that we had a free trial. The students were hesitant at first to try a new service, but they ended up loving it! The students were engaged and loved getting to work with ‘cool and passionate’ people [who prepared them] with new skills that they can take into real-world careers!"
Miss Luna, Site Lead, American Union, Washington Unified School District

At the end of some of our programs, parents are able to see their child present their work and celebrate each student's achievement as a community at special culminating events.

Music unlocks emotion and creativity, and in this program students learned about all the different roles, tech, and collaboration behind the scenes of the music industry.
Imagination + understanding of the business world = success! Students created a business concept and "pitched" it in a presentation to parents.
Salinas City were able to bring the hit Work ED Robotics program to their young students, who built their own "scribble bots"!
"The students and staff members will be happy to have [Work ED] back … such great positive feedback not only from our students but from our staff members as well. Every time I stopped by all the students were engaged and excited to learn. I cannot thank you and your team enough for being so wonderful."
– Anahi Pacheco, Site Lead Coordinator, Salinas Elementary
